आंध्र प्रदेश टीडीपी के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष पल्ला श्रीनिवास राव ने वाईएसआरसीपी की राष्ट्रपति शासन की मांग को राजनीतिक रूप से प्रेरित चाल करार दिया है। उन्होंने कहा कि वाईएसआरसीपी जनता का ध्यान मुख्य मुद्दों से भटकाने की कोशिश कर रही है और कानून-व्यवस्था टूटने का झूठा नाटक कर रही है। श्री श्रीनिवास राव ने जोर देकर कहा कि सरकार निष्पक्ष और स्वतंत्र स्थानीय निकाय चुनावों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है और चेतावनी दी कि प्रक्रिया को बाधित करने वालों के खिलाफ कानूनी कार्रवाई की जाएगी। उन्होंने जनता से राजनीतिक लाभ के लिए वाईएसआरसीपी की कथित साजिशों को पहचानने का आग्रह किया।
