India A's batting order struggled significantly against New Zealand A in the first unofficial four-day match, being bowled out for just 113 runs on the first day. The opening pair of KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who also represent the Indian national team, failed to build a substantial partnership, with Rahul dismissed for a duck and Jaiswal scoring only 17. The middle order, including Sai Sudharsan, captain Dhruv Jurel, and Devdutt Padikkal, also faltered, with Padikkal managing the highest individual score of 32.
