Copper Prices Drop for Fourth Day, Heading for Worst Week Since March
Economic Times Markets · stocks
Copper prices have fallen for four consecutive sessions, putting them on track for their largest weekly decline since March. This downturn is primarily driven by a significant sell-off in technology stocks, which has impacted investor sentiment towards AI-related investments and data center expansion. Despite supply concerns that are limiting the extent of the price drop, benchmark copper on the London Metal Exchange reached its lowest point since July 30. The metal is currently down 2.9% for the week.
