Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf will not attend the BRICS Parliamentary Forum in New Delhi due to India's refusal to allow direct air routes for humanitarian aid. Iran Air was reportedly denied permission to fly medicines directly from India to Tehran, citing fears of US sanctions. India suggested using a third country like Armenia, but Iran argued that humanitarian aid is exempt from sanctions and that indirect transport damages sensitive medications. Tehran has requested India prioritize operationalizing a bilateral air route for essential support.

ईरान के संसद स्पीकर मोहम्मद बाघे़र गालिबफ नई दिल्ली में ब्रिक्स संसदीय मंच में शामिल नहीं होंगे। ऐसा इसलिए है क्योंकि भारत ने मानवीय सहायता के लिए सीधी हवाई मार्ग की अनुमति देने से इनकार कर दिया है। ईरान एयर को कथित तौर पर अमेरिका के प्रतिबंधों के डर से भारत से तेहरान तक सीधे दवाएं ले जाने की अनुमति नहीं दी गई थी। भारत ने आर्मेनिया जैसे तीसरे देश का उपयोग करने का सुझाव दिया, लेकिन ईरान ने तर्क दिया कि मानवीय सहायता प्रतिबंधों से मुक्त है और अप्रत्यक्ष परिवहन से संवेदनशील दवाएं खराब हो जाती हैं। तेहरान ने भारत से आवश्यक सहायता के लिए द्विपक्षीय हवाई मार्ग को प्राथमिकता देने का अनुरोध किया है।
