Keralam CM Questions CAG Audit Methods, Cites 2G, Vizhinjam Cases

Keralam Chief Minister V D Satheesan stated that legislatures cannot reject reports from the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), calling such actions unhealthy parliamentary practices. He criticized the CAG's methodology, citing the 2G spectrum allocation's estimated ₹1.76 lakh crore loss as a hypothetical projection rather than an actual loss. Satheesan also pointed to the Vizhinjam port audit, arguing the CAG mischaracterised the public-private partnership project by applying standard public sector audit principles.

केरलम के मुख्यमंत्री वी डी सतीशण ने कहा कि विधायिकाएँ नियंत्रक एवं महालेखा परीक्षक (CAG) की रिपोर्टों को खारिज नहीं कर सकतीं, और ऐसे कार्यों को अस्वास्थ्यकर संसदीय प्रथाएँ बताया। उन्होंने CAG की कार्यप्रणाली की आलोचना की, 2जी स्पेक्ट्रम आवंटन में ₹1.76 लाख करोड़ के अनुमानित नुकसान को वास्तविक नुकसान के बजाय एक काल्पनिक अनुमान बताया। सतीशण ने विझिंजम बंदरगाह ऑडिट का भी उल्लेख किया, यह तर्क देते हुए कि CAG ने मानक सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के ऑडिट सिद्धांतों को लागू करके सार्वजनिक-निजी भागीदारी परियोजना को गलत तरीके से प्रस्तुत किया।
