Maharashtra Ashram School Cuts Students' Hair Mid-Way, Sparks Outrage

TV9 Hindi · india

In Maharashtra's Chandrapur district, a government ashram school has drawn criticism after approximately 80 students had their heads half-shaved. The incident occurred when a trimmer's battery died during haircuts intended to address dandruff and itching. Images of the students with unevenly cut hair went viral, prompting authorities to order a complete re-cutting of all affected students' hair. This process began late at night and continued until the early morning. This is not the first administrative issue at the school, as a previous incident involved students being served stale food.
