Indian Innovator Builds Electric Flying Vehicle After 13 Years of Online Learning

Ravi Tamta, an innovator from Almora, Uttarakhand, has developed an electric flying vehicle prototype called HAPIDA SKYNeX. Without a formal engineering degree, Tamta spent 13 years learning online and experimenting to create the single-seat craft. The prototype successfully completed a test flight in August 2026, lifting off from an Army helipad and remaining airborne for nearly a minute. This innovation aims to address challenges in mountain terrain where road connectivity is difficult, potentially making travel faster and aiding emergency services.

उत्तराखंड के अल्मोड़ा के रहने वाले रवि टम्टा ने HAPIDA SKYNeX नाम का एक इलेक्ट्रिक उड़ने वाला वाहन प्रोटोटाइप बनाया है। बिना किसी औपचारिक इंजीनियरिंग डिग्री के, टम्टा ने 13 साल तक ऑनलाइन सीखा और इस एक-सीट वाले क्राफ्ट को बनाने के लिए प्रयोग किए। प्रोटोटाइप ने अगस्त 2026 में एक सफल परीक्षण उड़ान भरी, जो एक आर्मी हेलिपैड से उड़ी और लगभग एक मिनट तक हवा में रही। इस नवाचार का उद्देश्य पहाड़ी इलाकों में आने वाली चुनौतियों का समाधान करना है जहाँ सड़क संपर्क मुश्किल है, जिससे यात्रा तेज हो सकती है और आपातकालीन सेवाओं में मदद मिल सकती है।
