Jitiya Vrat 2026 observed for children's well-being

The Jitiya or Jivitputrika Vrat is being observed today, by mothers praying for the long life, good health, and happiness of their children. This significant fast is primarily celebrated in regions like Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh. The Ashtami tithi began and will conclude. While the main observance is today, the fast will be broken. Devotees will perform prayers to Lord Jimutavahana, particularly during the Pradosh Kaal in the evening, seeking blessings for their offspring.
