Construction of the breakwater at Muthalapozhi fishing harbour has resumed after a halt of nearly three to four months. The work was stalled due to objections from the local fishing community, who raised concerns about the unscientific design of the rubble-mound structure potentially affecting their safety and livelihood. Following discussions and resolution of these concerns, authorities are now planning to expedite the construction to meet the scheduled timeframe. The project, crucial for navigation and safety, was also previously impacted by monsoon conditions.
