FIIs Exit India Equities Amidst Falling Valuations; Crude Oil Prices Cited
TV9 Hindi · stocks
Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) have withdrawn approximately $64 billion from Indian equities over the past two years, leading to significantly lower market valuations and cheaper stocks. Despite increased earning potential, FIIs have not returned, with analysts suggesting persistently high crude oil prices as a primary reason. Brent crude prices above $105 per barrel historically correlate with FII selling, while prices below $90 tend to ease selling pressure. Currently, Brent crude is around $115 per barrel, hindering significant capital inflow.
