Retired Army Man Shoots Brother Dead Over Property Dispute in Bihar

A 65-year-old retired Army serviceman allegedly shot his 60-year-old younger brother dead over a property dispute in Dhanushi village, Vaishali district, Bihar on Saturday. The accused, Suresh Prasad Singh, surrendered with his licensed revolver and was arrested. The deceased, Somnath Singh, sustained two bullet injuries and died at the scene. A village panchayat held earlier to resolve the dispute failed, and the disagreement reportedly escalated later, leading to the shooting. Police recovered five empty cartridges from the site.

बिहार के वैशाली जिले के धनूशी गांव में शनिवार को संपत्ति विवाद को लेकर 65 वर्षीय रिटायर्ड फौजी ने कथित तौर पर अपने 60 वर्षीय छोटे भाई को गोली मार दी। आरोपी सुरेश प्रसाद सिंह अपनी लाइसेंसी रिवॉल्वर के साथ आत्मसमर्पण कर दिया और उसे गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया। मृतक सोमनाथ सिंह को दो गोलियां लगी थीं और घटनास्थल पर ही उनकी मौत हो गई। विवाद को सुलझाने के लिए पहले आयोजित पंचायत विफल रही, और बाद में असहमति बढ़ने पर गोलीबारी हुई। पुलिस ने घटनास्थल से पांच खाली कारतूस बरामद किए।
