Court Restores Umar Khalid's Family Video Meetings

A Delhi court has reinstated activist Umar Khalid's right to two weekly video meetings with his family. Jail authorities had previously reduced these to one session weekly. The court found no valid reason for this reduction. Khalid is currently incarcerated in connection with the 2020 northeast Delhi riots conspiracy case. This decision comes after his recent bail pleas were rejected by the court.

दिल्ली की एक अदालत ने एक्टिविस्ट उमर खालिद को अपने परिवार से हफ़्ते में दो बार वीडियो कॉल करने का अधिकार फिर से दे दिया है। जेल प्रशासन ने पहले इसे घटाकर एक बार कर दिया था। अदालत को इस कटौती का कोई ठोस कारण नहीं मिला। खालिद 2020 के उत्तर-पूर्वी दिल्ली दंगों की साज़िश के मामले में जेल में बंद हैं। यह फैसला उनके हालिया ज़मानत आवेदनों को अदालत द्वारा खारिज किए जाने के बाद आया है।
