Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps navy has reported that a cargo ship sank after striking a naval mine in the Strait of Hormuz. State TV quoted a Guard statement indicating the vessel was carrying 2,500 containers and caught fire before sinking. The ship was reportedly travelling on an illegal and dangerous route at the time of the incident.
