State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) reported a significant 57.3% year-on-year increase in its standalone net profit, reaching ₹15,489 crore for the quarter ending September. This surge was primarily fueled by higher realisations from crude oil and natural gas sales. The company also announced an interim dividend of ₹8 per equity share. Despite the profit jump, crude oil output saw a 4.2% decline and natural gas production fell by 1.6% due to operational challenges and reservoir complexities.
