Oregon Bill Proposes Returning Forest Land to Tribe

A new bill in the US Congress proposes transferring 18,626 acres of federal forest land in Oregon to the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. Introduced by Senator Jeff Merkley and Representative Andrea Salinas, the legislation aims to help the tribe rebuild its land base after historical federal termination. The land, located in the Siuslaw National Forest, would be placed in trust for the tribe.

अमेरिका में कांग्रेस में एक नया बिल आया है। इसके तहत ओरेगन के 18,626 एकड़ जंगल की ज़मीन Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde को दी जाएगी। सीनेटर जेफ़ मर्केली और रिप्रेजेंटेटिव एंड्रिया सैलिनस ने यह बिल पेश किया है। इसका मकसद है कि ऐतिहासिक रूप से ज़मीन गंवाने के बाद कबीला अपनी ज़मीन वापस बना सके। यह ज़मीन Siuslaw National Forest में है और कबीले के ट्रस्ट में रखी जाएगी।
