Gomti River Recedes Upstream, But Lucknow Areas Remain Inundated
Hindustan Times · india
Despite the Gomti River receding upstream, several areas in Lucknow continue to face inundation. An irrigation department official stated on Saturday that it might take another week for floodwaters to drain from affected localities. At Neemsar, the river's water level dropped by 87 cm from its peak, and similar declines were observed at Bhatpurva and Gaughat. While the receding trend offers hope, officials noted that further rainfall could impede the process. The situation is expected to improve gradually as the river continues to fall upstream.
