Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn proposed a bill for an independent inquiry into Britain's role in the Gaza genocide, examining UK military, economic, and political cooperation with Israel since October 2023. The bill, supported by over 50 MPs, was blocked by Keir Starmer's government, which stated no inquiry was necessary. This mirrors past government reluctance to investigate UK involvement in conflicts, such as the 2003 Iraq war, where findings were only published.
