A draft notification by the ESA has sparked concern in Kerala's hilly regions, impacting 131 villages. Approximately 1,500 sq km of farmlands and human habitations are now designated as ecologically sensitive areas. ईएसए (ESA) के एक मसौदा नोटिफिकेशन से केरल के पहाड़ी इलाकों में चिंता बढ़ गई है। इससे 131 गांव प्रभावित हुए हैं। करीब 1,500 वर्ग किलोमीटर खेती की जमीन और बस्तियों को इकोलॉजिकली सेंसिटिव एरिया घोषित कर दिया गया है। ईएसए के इस कदम से वहां रहने वाले लोगों और किसानों को जमीन के इस्तेमाल पर पाबंदियों और अपनी रोजी-रोटी के भविष्य को लेकर काफी चिंता हो रही है।
