INS Karwar Strengthened With New Facilities Under Project Seabird

India's naval base at Karwar has been significantly bolstered with the inauguration of new residential and infrastructure facilities under Project Seabird's Phase 2A. Chief of Defence Staff General NS Subramani inaugurated these facilities, which include housing for senior naval personnel, civilian employees, and Defence Security Corps personnel, along with a kindergarten school. This expansion aims to enhance naval operational capabilities by developing infrastructure for deploying warships and submarines. The project also emphasizes indigenous sourcing, with over 90% of materials and equipment being domestic, and is designed to meet environmental standards.

प्रोजेक्ट सीबर्ड के फेज 2A के तहत नई आवासीय और बुनियादी ढांचा सुविधाओं के उद्घाटन के साथ भारत के कारवर नौसैनिक अड्डे को काफी मजबूत किया गया है। चीफ ऑफ डिफेंस स्टाफ जनरल एम.एम. नरवणे ने इन सुविधाओं का उद्घाटन किया, जिनमें वरिष्ठ नौसैनिक कर्मियों, नागरिक कर्मचारियों और डिफेंस सिक्योरिटी कोर कर्मियों के लिए आवास के साथ-साथ एक किंडरगार्टन स्कूल भी शामिल है। इस विस्तार का उद्देश्य युद्धपोतों और पनडुब्बियों की तैनाती के लिए बुनियादी ढांचे का विकास करके नौसैनिक परिचालन क्षमताओं को बढ़ाना है। यह परियोजना स्वदेशी सोर्सिंग पर भी जोर देती है, जिसमें 90% से अधिक सामग्री और उपकरण घरेलू हैं, और इसे पर्यावरणीय मानकों को पूरा करने के लिए डिज़ाइन किया गया है।
