The United States, South Korea, and Japan have reaffirmed their commitment to the complete denuclearisation of North Korea. Their top diplomats met on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Atlanta, pledging full implementation of UN Security Council resolutions. This statement comes despite past US overtures and a previous US stance acknowledging North Korea as a nuclear power. North Korea, however, has consistently rejected denuclearisation, declaring its nuclear arsenal permanent and irreversible, and denouncing sanctions.
