Business Standard · business
India's fuel consumption data for October shows a significant rise in diesel demand, increasing by 11.69% to 8.51 million tonnes year-on-year. Petrol consumption also saw a rise of 3.11% to 3.77 million tonnes. In contrast, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) demand experienced a sharp decline of 12.11%, falling to 2.64 million tonnes. This drop in LPG usage is attributed to import challenges and government initiatives promoting alternatives like piped natural gas. Aviation turbine fuel demand also saw a slight decrease.
