Syria Prefers Diplomatic Resolution With Israel

Syria's Foreign Minister Asaad al-Sheibani stated that Damascus prefers a diplomatic resolution to the conflict with Israel. He emphasized adherence to the 1974 agreement on disengagement of forces in the Golan Heights. Syria seeks to prevent any pretexts for aggression, having experienced the high cost of war. Al-Sheibani also called for Israeli troop withdrawal from occupied southern Syrian territory to the pre-December 8, 2024 line of separation.
