A Kuwait-flagged oil tanker, M/T Al Dasma, carrying 21 Indian seafarers, was struck by an unidentified projectile in the Strait of Hormuz on October 21. Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal confirmed all 21 Indian crew members and the rest of the crew are safe. The vessel was located 11 nautical miles west of Bukha, Oman, and a fire aboard was extinguished. This incident follows other recent attacks on commercial shipping in the Gulf region, raising concerns for Indian seafarers.
