SoftBank Raises $11.1 Billion Via Bonds

SoftBank Group has issued $11.1 billion in dollar- and euro-denominated bonds to raise cash for its artificial intelligence investments. The technology investor sold dollar notes totaling $10 billion with interest rates ranging from 8.625% to 9.75%. Additionally, two tranches of euro-denominated notes worth €1 billion were issued with yields of 7.125% and 8%. These funds will support SoftBank's $30 billion commitment to OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT, bringing its total investment to $64.
