Scientists from the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) have identified a new species of conger eel in the Arabian Sea. Named Ariosoma cmfriense, the discovery marks CMFRI's 80th anniversary. The eel was collected from waters off Kollam, Kerala, at a depth of approximately 300 meters. Researchers confirmed it as a distinct species using morphological characteristics and molecular data, differentiating it from 12 other known Ariosoma species in the region.

सेंट्रल मरीन फिशरीज रिसर्च इंस्टीट्यूट (CMFRI) के वैज्ञानिकों ने अरब सागर में कॉनगेर ईल की एक नई प्रजाति का पता लगाया है। इसका नाम Ariosoma cmfriense रखा गया है। यह खोज CMFRI की 80वीं वर्षगांठ पर हुई है। यह ईल केरल के कोल्लम के पास लगभग 300 मीटर की गहराई से मिली है। वैज्ञानिकों ने इसे दूसरी Ariosoma प्रजातियों से अलग बताया है।
