Punjab Language Dept Director Slapped With Show-Cause Notice, Writes to CM

Punjab Language Department Director Jaswant Singh Zafar has written to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann seeking intervention after receiving a show-cause notice from higher education secretary Sonali Giri. The notice alleges irregularities in recruiting research assistants, including violations of reservation roster and selection criteria. Zafar claims the recruitment process was finalized by the Subordinate Services Selection Board after legal advice and that the high court has not stayed it. He alleges bureaucratic high-handedness and seeks action against Giri, stating only the CM can authorize proceedings against him.

पंजाब भाषा विभाग के निदेशक जसविंदर सिंह ज़फ़र ने उच्च शिक्षा सचिव सोनाली गिरि से कारण बताओ नोटिस मिलने के बाद मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत मान को हस्तक्षेप की गुहार लगाई है। नोटिस में आरक्षण रोस्टर और चयन मानदंडों के उल्लंघन सहित शोध सहायकों की भर्ती में अनियमितताओं का आरोप लगाया गया है। ज़फ़र का दावा है कि भर्ती प्रक्रिया को अधीनस्थ सेवा चयन बोर्ड ने कानूनी सलाह के बाद अंतिम रूप दिया था और उच्च न्यायालय ने इसे रोका नहीं है। उन्होंने नौकरशाही की दादागिरी का आरोप लगाया और गिरि के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की मांग की, यह कहते हुए कि केवल सीएम ही उनके खिलाफ कार्यवाही को अधिकृत कर सकते हैं।
