The Allahabad High Court has ordered the release of Ayush Malik, a 31-year-old man who alleged illegal confinement by his father. Malik stated he converted to Islam in 2014 and wished to marry Muslim woman Chandni Qureshi. The court affirmed that an adult's choice of partner falls under Article 21's right to life and personal liberty, which cannot be restricted by family wishes.

इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट ने आयुष मलिक को रिहा करने का आदेश दिया है। 31 साल के आयुष ने अपने पिता पर अवैध रूप से बंधक बनाने का आरोप लगाया था। आयुष ने बताया कि उसने 2014 में इस्लाम कबूल किया था और वह चांदनी कुरैशी नाम की मुस्लिम लड़की से शादी करना चाहता है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि किसी वयस्क का जीवनसाथी चुनने का अधिकार आर्टिकल 21 के तहत आता है, जिसे परिवार की इच्छा से रोका नहीं जा सकता।
