San Francisco's historic Empress of China building has returned to community ownership, ten years after it closed its doors. A group formed by six leading Asian American non-profit organisations purchased the landmark six-storey property. The building, originally constructed in 1966, served as a vital gathering place for Chinatown families and visitors.
