Adivasi students were allegedly detained by police at the Maharashtra Congress headquarters in Dadar early Monday to prevent a protest at Azad Maidan. The students had walked from Nashik seeking permission for their agitation but received no response from authorities. The Congress party stated they provided shelter to the students overnight and accused police of entering their office without permission to detain them. Maharashtra Congress president Harshvardhan Sapkal demanded their immediate release, threatening to lay siege to the Chief Minister's residence if they were not freed.
