Warrants Served on TMC Leaders in Nandigram

Police visited the homes of several Trinamool leaders in bypoll-bound Nandigram to serve court warrants related to cases from the land movement and post-2021 poll violence. Warrants were served on Sheikh Sufiyan and Sheikh Sahauddin, among others. Police stated these actions were standard procedure to maintain law and order before elections. However, political leaders alleged the crackdown was politically motivated, questioning the timing of these long-dormant cases.

चुनाव वाले नंदीग्राम में कई तृणमूल नेताओं के घर पुलिस पहुंची और ज़मीन आंदोलन और 2021 के बाद हुए चुनाव की हिंसा से जुड़े मामलों में कोर्ट के वारंट तामील कराए। शेख सुफियान और शेख सहाबुद्दीन समेत कई नेताओं को वारंट दिए गए। पुलिस ने कहा कि चुनाव से पहले कानून व्यवस्था बनाए रखने के लिए यह सामान्य प्रक्रिया है। लेकिन, राजनीतिक नेताओं ने आरोप लगाया कि यह कार्रवाई राजनीतिक रूप से प्रेरित है और इतने पुराने मामलों को अब क्यों उठाया जा रहा है।
