S Jaishankar: Border Situation Dictates India-China Ties

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stated that India-China relations have improved from their worst phase, but normalization depends on the border situation. He clarified that while contacts have resumed as border tensions eased, this doesn't signify a fundamental shift in the relationship. Jaishankar emphasized that prolonged border disputes are not beneficial for either nation and can be exploited by third parties. He reiterated that the condition of the border directly determines the state of bilateral ties, suggesting that improved border stability could lead to more normalized overall relations.

विदेश मंत्री एस जयशंकर ने कहा कि भारत-चीन संबंध अपने सबसे बुरे दौर से सुधर गए हैं, लेकिन सामान्यीकरण सीमा की स्थिति पर निर्भर करता है। उन्होंने स्पष्ट किया कि सीमा पर तनाव कम होने से संपर्क फिर से शुरू हो गए हैं, लेकिन इसका मतलब यह नहीं है कि रिश्ते में कोई बड़ा बदलाव आया है। जयशंकर ने जोर देकर कहा कि लंबे समय से चले आ रहे सीमा विवाद किसी भी देश के लिए फायदेमंद नहीं हैं और तीसरे पक्ष इनका फायदा उठा सकते हैं।
