Rain, Thunderstorms Hit Dehradun; Higher Reaches of Uttarakhand Receive Snowfall

Moderate rain and thunderstorms lashed Dehradun on Sunday, bringing down temperatures after several days of warmer-than-normal weather. Higher reaches of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, and Rudraprayag districts also received snowfall. Dehradun recorded a maximum temperature of 27.8 degrees Celsius, nearly two degrees below normal. The India Meteorological Department attributed the weather spell to a western disturbance and a cyclonic circulation. Weather activity is expected to ease from Monday, though light showers and snow may continue in the hills.

रविवार को देहरादून में मध्यम बारिश और गरज के साथ बौछारें पड़ीं, जिससे कई दिनों के सामान्य से अधिक गर्म मौसम के बाद तापमान गिर गया। उत्तरकाशी, चमोली और रुद्रप्रयाग जिलों के ऊपरी इलाकों में भी बर्फबारी हुई। देहरादून में अधिकतम तापमान 27.8 डिग्री सेल्सियस दर्ज किया गया, जो सामान्य से लगभग दो डिग्री कम है। भारत मौसम विज्ञान विभाग ने इस मौसम को पश्चिमी विक्षोभ और एक चक्रवाती परिसंचरण के कारण बताया है। सोमवार से मौसम की गतिविधि कम होने की उम्मीद है, हालांकि पहाड़ी इलाकों में हल्की बारिश और बर्फबारी जारी रह सकती है।
