The BCCI is looking to fill a vacancy in the five-member selection committee after former Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar's tenure ended. Former spinner Ramesh Powar has emerged as a strong contender for the position, which will be filled by a candidate from the West Zone. Powar, who has applied for the role, previously served as the head coach for the Senior Women's team. The decision on his appointment is expected soon, though he will not be the Chief Selector, a role currently held by Pragyan Ojha.
