Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) shares rose nearly 9% after announcing a Rs 32,000 crore contract with the Indian Navy for five Next Generation Corvettes. This deal, expected to be completed within nine years and four months, significantly boosts India's indigenous warship-building capabilities and defence manufacturing vision. The corvettes will be 127 meters long, 17.6 meters wide, and capable of multi-role operations including missile attacks and anti-submarine warfare. GRSE will equip these advanced warships with sophisticated weapons, sensors, and navigation systems, reinforcing its role in national maritime defence.
