Jadavpur University VC Orders Registrar to Act on Student's Sexual Harassment Complaint

Jadavpur University Vice-Chancellor Chiranjib Bhattacharjee has directed the registrar to address a sexual harassment complaint filed by a first-year undergraduate student. The accused non-teaching employee has been debarred from entering the campus until an inquiry by the internal complaints committee is completed. The incident allegedly occurred on the sixth floor of Technology Bhavan, where the employee reportedly behaved inappropriately with the student. The student's complaint details an alleged inappropriate touch after the employee showed her locked rooms.

जादवपुर यूनिवर्सिटी के वाइस-चांसलर चिरंजीब भट्टाचार्जी ने रजिस्ट्रार को पहली साल की अंडरग्रेजुएट छात्रा द्वारा दर्ज कराई गई यौन उत्पीड़न की शिकायत पर कार्रवाई करने का निर्देश दिया है। आरोपी गैर-शिक्षण कर्मचारी को आंतरिक शिकायत समिति की जांच पूरी होने तक कैंपस में प्रवेश करने से रोक दिया गया है। यह घटना कथित तौर पर टेक्नोलॉजी भवन की छठी मंजिल पर हुई, जहां कर्मचारी ने कथित तौर पर छात्रा के साथ अनुचित व्यवहार किया। छात्रा की शिकायत में कर्मचारी द्वारा ताला लगे कमरों को दिखाने के बाद कथित तौर पर अनुचित स्पर्श का विवरण दिया गया है।
