Sankoo Becomes Ladakh's 8th District With Separate Hill Council

Sankoo has officially been designated as the eighth district in Ladakh, a significant development following persistent demands from local organisations and political representatives. This new district will also feature its own separate Hill Council, granting it greater administrative autonomy. The decision comes after Sankoo was initially excluded from the five new districts announced earlier this year.
