Darjeeling's iconic 141-year-old fountain at Chowrasta Mall, non-functional for months, is undergoing restoration by the GTA tourism department. Unveiled in 1885 by the Maharaja of Cooch Behar, the historic structure served as a water source for horses and a bird bathing spot. Officials attribute its disrepair partly to bird feeding, which clogs the fountain. The restoration is expected to be completed within a week, aiming to revive this important tourist attraction before the peak season.

दार्जिलिंग का 141 साल पुराना मशहूर फाउंटेन, जो महीनों से बंद था, अब GTA पर्यटन विभाग द्वारा ठीक किया जा रहा है। 1885 में कूचबिहार के महाराजा ने इसका उद्घाटन किया था। यह घोड़ों के लिए पानी का स्रोत और पक्षियों के नहाने की जगह था। अधिकारियों का कहना है कि पक्षियों को दाना खिलाने से यह जाम हो जाता था। उम्मीद है एक हफ्ते में काम पूरा हो जाएगा, ताकि सीजन से पहले यह खास जगह फिर से चालू हो सके।
