Rs 725 Crore Bogus Donation Scam Uncovered

The Income Tax department has flagged two alleged bogus political donation networks in Gujarat involving over Rs 725 crore. Unrecognised political parties, Garib Kalyan Party and Swatantrata Abhivyakti Party, were allegedly used to generate fake donation receipts for tax deductions. Taxpayers transferred money to these parties, received receipts, and then allegedly got the money back in cash after commissions were deducted. The department estimates a loss of Rs 62 crore from Garib Kalyan Party and Rs 156 crore from Swatantrata Abhivyakti Party to the government exchequer.

विभाग ने गुजरात में 725 करोड़ रुपये से ज़्यादा के दो कथित फर्जी राजनीतिक डोनेशन नेटवर्क का पर्दाफाश किया है। Garib Kalyan Party और Swatantrata Abhivyakti Party नाम की अमान्यता प्राप्त राजनीतिक पार्टियों का इस्तेमाल टैक्स कटौती के लिए फर्जी डोनेशन रसीदें बनाने के लिए किया गया था। टैक्सपेयर्स ने इन पार्टियों को पैसे ट्रांसफर किए, रसीदें प्राप्त कीं, और फिर कथित तौर पर कमीशन कटने के बाद पैसे नकद वापस ले लिए। विभाग का अनुमान है कि Garib Kalyan Party से सरकार को 62 करोड़ रुपये और Swatantrata Abhivyakti Party से 156 करोड़ रुपये का नुकसान हुआ है।
