Booking flights at the last minute can cost travellers approximately 25% more on average compared to booking a month in advance. An analysis of 54 routes across major Indian cities revealed that fares increase significantly in the final three weeks before departure, with the last week alone adding about 12% to the cost. No route analysed proved cheaper when booked the day before departure.
