US Govt, Google Join Zuckerberg's Biohub for AI Biology Data
Economic Times - Tech · technology
The US government, Meta Platforms, and Google parent Alphabet are investing $1.8 billion through nonprofit Biohub to create open datasets for training AI models in biological research. Meta, Google DeepMind, and Isomorphic Labs are contributing $300 million, while the Department of Energy will invest over $500 million in lab measurement and computation. The National Institutes of Health will coordinate existing federal datasets for AI training. This initiative, the Virtual Biology Initiative, aims to accelerate drug development by creating predictive models from vast cell response data.
