IEA Chief: Little Chance of Oil Market Normalisation in 2027

International Energy Agency chief Fatih Birol stated there is little chance of oil market normalisation in 2027 due to ongoing West Asia conflict. He noted that oil prices have risen to over $100 a barrel from below $70 before hostilities began. Damage to Gulf refineries has also caused diesel prices to reach record highs. The IEA has previously organised the release of 400 million barrels from strategic reserves and may consider further releases if necessary.

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ऊर्जा एजेंसी (IEA) के प्रमुख फातिह बिरोल ने कहा है कि पश्चिम एशिया में चल रहे संघर्ष के कारण 2027 तक तेल बाज़ार के सामान्य होने की बहुत कम संभावना है। उन्होंने बताया कि संघर्ष शुरू होने से पहले 70 डॉलर प्रति बैरल से नीचे चल रहा तेल अब 100 डॉलर प्रति बैरल से ऊपर पहुँच गया है। खाड़ी के रिफाइनरियों को हुए नुकसान के कारण डीज़ल की कीमतें भी रिकॉर्ड स्तर पर पहुँच गई हैं। IEA ने पहले ही रणनीतिक भंडार से 400 मिलियन बैरल तेल जारी करने का आयोजन किया था और ज़रूरत पड़ने पर और भी तेल जारी करने पर विचार कर सकता है।
