Pune CP: Safe Procession More Important Than Short

Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar stated that ensuring a safe and incident-free Ganapati immersion procession is more crucial than its duration. He emphasized that effective crowd management, traffic regulation, and technology were key to handling massive crowds without untoward incidents. Kumar noted that approximately six lakh citizens used Metro services to reach old city areas for the event. He also mentioned improved compliance with noise pollution norms this year, with action taken against violators.

पुणे पुलिस कमिश्नर अमितेश कुमार ने कहा कि गणपति विसर्जन जुलूस का सुरक्षित और बिना किसी घटना के संपन्न होना उसकी अवधि से ज़्यादा ज़रूरी है। उन्होंने ज़ोर देकर कहा कि भारी भीड़ को बिना किसी अनहोनी के संभालने के लिए प्रभावी भीड़ प्रबंधन, यातायात नियमन और तकनीक अहम थे। कुमार ने बताया कि इस कार्यक्रम के लिए लगभग छह लाख नागरिकों ने पुराने शहर के इलाकों तक पहुँचने के लिए मेट्रो सेवाओं का इस्तेमाल किया। उन्होंने इस साल ध्वनि प्रदूषण नियमों के बेहतर अनुपालन का भी ज़िक्र किया और उल्लंघन करने वालों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की गई।
