Acton described the ad, which included her mother calling her a "liar," as "terrible and despicable." She believes leaders' words matter and accountability is necessary. Acton, who has been estranged from her mother since childhood due to alleged abuse, suggested Ramaswamy used the ad because his campaign was struggling.
