Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (CPCL) reported a significant net profit of ₹2,271 crore for the second quarter of FY2026-27, more than tripling from ₹732 crore in the same period last year. This surge is attributed to a sharp improvement in its gross refining margin, which more than doubled to $20.41 per barrel. The company's revenue from operations also saw an increase, reaching ₹22,109 crore. Despite planned maintenance, CPCL processed 2.590 million metric tonnes of crude oil, achieving 98% capacity utilisation.
