MP HC: Notaries Can't Certify Marriages

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has suspended a notary's license for preparing a fake marriage document, ruling that notaries lack the authority to function as marriage officers. This decision came after a young woman alleged coercion into a sham court marriage and expressed her desire to return to her parents.

मध्य प्रदेश हाई कोर्ट ने एक नोटरी का लाइसेंस रद्द कर दिया है। उस पर नकली शादी का दस्तावेज़ बनाने का आरोप था। कोर्ट ने कहा कि नोटरी को शादी कराने का अधिकार नहीं है। यह फैसला तब आया जब एक लड़की ने आरोप लगाया कि उसे जबरदस्ती कोर्ट मैरिज कराई गई थी और वह अपने माता-पिता के पास लौटना चाहती है।
