Vikram Solar Subsidiary to Set Up 7.5 GWh Battery Storage Plant in Tamil Nadu

VSL PowerHive, a subsidiary of Vikram Solar, will establish a battery energy storage system (BESS) assembly plant in Oragadam, Tamil Nadu, with an initial annual capacity of 7.5 GWh. The facility, set to open in January 2027 and begin operations in April, can be expanded to 15 GWh. This plant is part of Vikram Solar's strategy to build 30 GWh of battery manufacturing capacity by 2030. It will assemble lithium iron phosphate-based storage systems for utility-scale and commercial applications, with plans to begin cell manufacturing from 2028.
