The mayoral post is reserved for a general-category woman in the current election.

गुंटूर म्युनिसिपल कॉर्पोरेशन मेयर के लिए तेलुगु देशम पार्टी (TDP) की उम्मीदवार कोवेलमुडी लक्ष्मी अपर्णा ने साफ़ ड्रेनेज सिस्टम, गड्ढा-मुक्त सड़कों, प्रभावी कूड़ा प्रबंधन और बेहतर पेयजल आपूर्ति को प्राथमिकता देने का वादा किया है। उन्होंने प्लास्टिक होर्डिंग्स को प्रतिबंधित करके और कलेक्शन ड्राइव शुरू करके प्लास्टिक कचरे की चुनौतियों का समाधान करने का लक्ष्य रखा है। पूर्व मेयर कोवेलमुडी रविंद्र की पत्नी अपर्णा ने कहा कि गुंटूर को और साफ़ और रहने योग्य बनाने के लिए उनका ध्यान बुनियादी नागरिक मुद्दों पर रहेगा। मेयर का पद वर्तमान चुनाव में सामान्य श्रेणी की महिला के लिए आरक्षित है।
