India's indigenous Akash air defence missile system has achieved a significant milestone by entering the Central Asian market. Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh confirmed exports to Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, following Armenia's acquisition of multiple batteries. This expansion highlights India's growing capabilities in indigenous defence production and its increasing defence presence in the region. The Akash system, developed by DRDO, is designed to engage multiple aerial targets and is operational with Indian armed forces, with further international demand anticipated.
