Shahid Film Finally Arrives on OTT After 13

The National Award-winning film 'Shahid', released in 2013, has finally found a streaming home on Prime Video after 13 years. The film, based on the life of lawyer and human rights activist Shahid Azmi, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2012. Its writer-editor, Apurva Asrani, questioned the long delay in its OTT release, highlighting the challenges faced by filmmakers telling similar stories. Asrani noted that the film's release coincided with a period where dissenters and activists faced scrutiny.
