Punjab observed a widespread bandh today following the murder of anti-drug activist Parwinder Singh Jhota. The protest, supported by various farmer, social, and religious organizations, along with opposition parties, significantly impacted the state. Demonstrators blocked the Patiala-Chandigarh National Highway at the Azizpur Toll Plaza in Mohali district, causing long queues of vehicles. The bandh was scheduled to last for approximately 11 hours, from 6 AM to 5 PM, disrupting normal life and traffic across Punjab.

नशीले पदार्थ विरोधी कार्यकर्ता परविंदर सिंह झोटा की हत्या के बाद आज पंजाब में व्यापक बंद देखा गया। विभिन्न किसान, सामाजिक और धार्मिक संगठनों के साथ-साथ विपक्षी दलों के समर्थन वाले इस विरोध प्रदर्शन का राज्य पर महत्वपूर्ण प्रभाव पड़ा। प्रदर्शनकारियों ने मोहाली जिले में अज़ीज़पुर टोल प्लाज़ा पर पटियाला-चंडीगढ़ राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग को अवरुद्ध कर दिया, जिससे वाहनों की लंबी कतारें लग गईं। बंद लगभग 11 घंटे, सुबह 6 बजे से शाम 5 बजे तक चलने वाला था, जिससे पूरे पंजाब में सामान्य जीवन और यातायात बाधित हुआ।
